GLOBAL INFO // – The Indonesian entertainment world is in mourning again. Talented comedian and presenter Nina Carolina, better known by her stage name Mpok Alpa, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at approximately 8:15 AM–8:31 AM WIB in Jakarta, at the age of 38.
This sad news was first conveyed by Raffi Ahmad and Irfan Hakim on Trans7’s For Your Morning (FYP) program. Raffi sobbingly said, “Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiun. Our friend, Nina Carolina, also known as Mpok Alpa, has passed away. Her husband just contacted us.”
For the past few months, Mpok Alpa has reportedly been undergoing serious medical treatment for cancer, a secret she has kept secret from the public. She began her career as a dangdut singer in 6th grade, performing at celebrations until her fame soared after a viral video (around 2018) in which she expressed her desire to be taken to Alfamart by her husband—a name that later became her trademark: Mpok Alpa.
Her popularity brought her to television, appearing as a comedian and presenter on various programs such as Opera Van Java, For Your Morning, Pagi-Pagi Pasti Happy, and the soap opera Cinta Yang Hilang. She also shared the stage with dangdut legend Elvi Sukaesih.
